Pottery Lessons
I now have 4 wheels at my studio and am excited to be able to offer private or small group throwing lessons. With a maximum of four students at a time, participants will receive a great deal of one-on-one instruction. For beginner students we will focus on the fundamentals of wedging, centering, pulling and throwing basic shapes, such as bowls, plates and mugs, as well as trimming and an introduction to various decorating and glazing techniques. For intermediate learners we can take on larger forms and work on more complicated forms with lids and attachments such as tea-pots (which is a fantastic project for a weekend workshop!)
Private, semi private and group lesson time slots will be arranged with participants, as these sessions can be any day or time of the week. I am completely flexible with different lesson durations and would be happy to provide pricing for day or weekend workshops and various class lengths such as 3-hour lessons, over 3, 5, 7, 9, or 11 weeks. To discuss options, contact me anytime by cell phone: 403 594-3549 or email: [email protected].

My most popular format for throwing classes is a 2-hour class once per week for 5 weeks. This gives participants a chance to create and trim various pots using the wheel over four weeks, with the final week dedicated to glazing all their pieces.
